It turns out that Zhang Liang Malatang can be made vegetarian and without onions. There are 3 options: Sichuan-Style Dry Pot, Mushroom Soup, and Tomato Soup. So, it can be one of the options if you’re craving mala. I heard it’s quite popular in China. However, the dry pot has a stronger mala flavor and is more numbing. Besides this location, they also have a second branch at Central Park Mall.
